I've enjoyed his music for years. Don't care much for his over priced burger restaurants and have a feeling these communities are going to be more pricy than comparables to pay for his naming rights just like the restaurants.
Also, I Have a feeling living there would get old quick. That said, I'm still going to check one out when it opens.

Just Google Margaritaville retirement communities. I found multiple articles, but I'm too impatient to pick the right one (Rolling Stone, Forbes, AARP).

Jimmy Buffett performs in tropical attire or T-shirts, but he does not relax. His NW is estimated at $600 million. He sells ER, but he doesn't participate in it, LOL.

Yup, working hard at selling taking it easy. HA.

Prices seem high for Daytona so that'll keep out the riffraff. I'll bet the HOA fees will reflect that too.

Agree on almost all points. (I do like the restaurants more than most such chains.)

Hoping for some kind of cheap/free stay and check us out deals when they open.

We had one of his cheeseburger joints open a few miles from us, perhaps in 2008(?). It was wildly popular for a while. About six months later, it was boarded up. I'm guessing those $15 burgers lost some appeal when the economy cratered. It stayed empty for several years before a small but very popular existing Mexican restaurant moved into the (much) larger property. It's been going gangbusters there for over 3 years. We are regulars at the place (old and new).

Like CoolChange, might check out a promo stay, but no real interest in paying the JB premium.

I'll be selling my 1200sf Florida Lake Griffin Harbor mfg home on 7 lakes with 50,000 acres of water, 212 miles of shoreline, and 53 boat slips for about $20K including the golf cart a 200cc Riva Scooter, and 2 bikes. 2 min walk to lake.

Where else can you go to catered party, with all the beer, wine and hors d'oeuvres you can drink or eat... plus a great Western Band, for $14/couple.

It looks like at least a fun place to visit. I don't know if it might be a little too much for me to want to live there. But I guess if there were like minded people and lots of activities to keep me busy it could be a lot of fun. I guess we'll have to check back after it's built and see how it came out.

I'll pass on this. But I'll also pass on the recommendation for his new (on the way to) Broadway show - Escape to Margaritaville. Fun show - especially if you like his music.
