I found the following at Home Depot. Do you think this would work for the screen repair or is the 1/2 in. too large?

24 in. x 1/2 in. x 12 in. Plain Metal Expanded Sheet.

Crown Bolt 24 in. x 1/2 in. x 12 in. Plain Metal Expanded Sheet-45830 at The Home Depot

I cannot see the actual opening size.

The openings on my fire pit's screen are 1/4" x 1/2" measuring the distance between the intersections and the clear opening is 3/8" on the long dimension.
