How many acres do you have??

I have two acres. A homebuilder bought 25 acres across the street in front of my house so its only a matter of time before a subdivision goes in. I'm also bordered on the other side by farmland.

Most of this area is farmland, and the 93 flood hit this area pretty hard. In order to build a new home here you have to make sure your elevation is 2' higher than it was in 93. My elevation of my property was good, but I had hundreds of loads of dirt and rock hauled in to make sure I wouldn't have any problems. I'm 8' above the high level in 93. I'm pretty sure St. Louis would be underwater at that point and we would all be screwed.

Well the river rose alittle more since my last post. Now the crest is suppose to be tommorow. The levee is still holding though. The problem will be if the levee breaks or the water goes over the road. Then we become an island.

Better to be on an island than in a pond.
