November 10th marks the anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald in 1975.

I really like the song. Not too long after it came out, I was in Detroit and stopped at the Maritime Sailor's Cathedral. The cathedral has an interesting past (and, hopefully, a long future ahead of it.)

Interesting. I live in Michigan and didn't hear a word of it on the news or read it in the local paper. Probably because it wasn't an anniversary ending in zero or five.
