One guy spent thirty minutes trying to get me to pronounce "bird" properly and I never really got it. I only visited the east coast of Australia, though.
The New Zealanders, on the other hand, spoke what sounded like proper English English to me, but about twice as fast as I'm used to. At the airport, I couldn't understand so I told the lady selling me a ticket, "please, you must speak slowly and clearly, because I am an American."

NZ and Australia are something like 1000 miles apart, aren't they? Neither one seems to like to be lumped together with the other.

I got 26 points, partly luck. I knew the Ontario, Canada accent in a second, but missed the woman from Chicago. Bummer.

No more lawyer stuff, no more political stuff, so no more CYA
