Costco got all the way until to $2.05 a few days ago, and today dropped back a penny to $2.04. So maybe prices will start going down a bit again.
There are some refinery strikes going on at the moment.
The lowest we every paid was in January - $1.69 per gallon at Costco!

It looks like several Costco stores are offering the best price today at $2.23/gal. Sorry to see it going back up. The best I have gotten was $1.85/gal several weeks ago.

It got down to $1.99 here for about 2 weeks and is now back at $2.09.

So my predictions are gas prices will rise after the new year and the economy will take a sharp downturn after the next election.

Gas prices will break $3 before the end of the year and possibly for a short period during the summer peak.

The last time I looked here, gas was $1.98 and diesel was $2.99 -- never would have expected diesel to be 50% higher.

Those are the prices I have been seeing. Diesel $1 higher or worse.

I saw that for a short time here, but now the difference is around $0.50 to $0.60, with gas around $2.15 and diesel around $2.60.

We're running about $2.39 and $2.99 here. That's about 25%, which still puts the beetle (45 mpg) in the lead, although not as much as I would like. If a car gets 30 mpg and diesel is 50% higher, it's a break even point. And I doubt it will get more out of balance than that.
In our personal situation, with the Highlander getting 20 mpg vs. the beetle at 45 mpg, even at 100% higher the beetle wins. We drive it whenever we don't have to haul stuff.

I buy my gas at Costco almost all the time. From Jan 29 to Feb 28, the price went from a low of $2.09 to $2.79 today. Big jump in one month. I feel for people who commute.

I last got gas on February 5th, and the prices will be higher the next time I need gas. It's already gone up at least 20 cents/gallon here, since then.

Big jump in gasoline last 10 days in so-cal , like over 20 cents. Diesel is not up much.#2 Diesel in now cheaper than R.U.G. Haven't seen that for a long time locally.
The local XOM refinery (150,000 bbl day) is still at limited capacity , repairs after an explosion in feb. are going slowly.

Reviving an old thread on gas prices since prices around here seem to be dropping again. $1.69 to $1.74 for regular is pretty common for discount stations here in East Texas but I saw it for $1.57 in Houston a few days ago at a brand named station. I suspect it's cheaper at some locations but I actually saw these.
Never thought I'd see prices like this again.

Maybe I should move to Texas. Here it's $1.99 for regular and $2.69 for the premium fuel I need.

I need premium in a couple of my cars too. It seems to be averaging about $2.39 around here but regular is really getting cheap.

We just drove down to Florida from Illinois, passing through Kentucky, Tennessee and Gerogia. The least expensive gasoline I saw was $1.87, most was $1.99. I filled up this morning at Costco, premium @ $2.49.

Yeah - the low gas prices in TX are in Terrel, TX, just east of Dallas $1.44/$1.45 per gallon.
Texas Gas Prices - Find Cheap Gas Prices in Texas
Costco has come down to $1.69 in the Rio Grande Valley, otherwise it's in the high $1.70s.

$1.73 at Costco about 10 days ago, and I saw the same price at a major station yesterday. Southwestern Ohio.
