BradMM - are you politically safe? If yes, then you can safely ignore Psycho. If not 100% safe, you may need to watch your rear guard. I was in a similar situation many years ago, and nearly lost my job. I had to do a lot of political catch-up to salvage my job, but I always felt I was a little tainted because of my Psycho's numerous and all false allegations. In the office world, just a sheer number of allegations can get some credibility...if you're not politically safe.
