Just wanted to add... I could not find anything on the population... but came across this on the black plague...

Soooo, the world population was in the 450 million range in the 1400s, which was a few hundred years after Ghengis... that would mean he killed 10% of the worlds population... I think this would put him as the greatest mass murderer of all time...
