GMail notifier mailto function fails in Firefox

My searching for a solution to this has failed.

Whenever I click a mailto hyperlink, or use the Send Link... function, gmail comes up, "Loading..." is displayed, but there is no further activity.

This works fine with Internet Explorer.

It happens even with Adblock plus disabled. Any ideas? Thanks.

Al, I've seen this too and found this link. There's a workaround in it that worked for me.
