Just bought Ping G30's, regular flex, graphite irons, 4 and 5 hybrid and driver. Old Nike putter. Added a Callaway XR 4-wood this weekend. I am a mediocre golfer who has no kids to pay for college so a new set was "needed" Plus I broke the head off of my Callaway XHot driver which made me buy the irons ?

In my bag:
TaylorMade RBZ 9.5 stiff
RBZ 3 wood stiff
RBZ2 3, 4, 5 hybrids stiff
RocketBadez 6-AW regular graphite
Vokey 54, 60 degree wedges regular
TaylorMade Fontana putter
About time for some new sticks for me as well. Hit the RSi 2 irons about a month ago and really liked them. Had them fitted and they set me up with 3 degree upright with Reax 65 graphite shafts. Will probably pull the trigger soon.
Did not like the R15 driver or the Aero Burner driver, hybrids or fairways at all. My RBZ driver and 3 wood went just as far and I like the sound better. Did hit the Ping G30 and liked it a lot. Given how well I hit the RBZ though I can't see spending the $$$ on the G30.

Here's mine, all regular shafts:
Cleveland Classic Driver
RBZ 3 and 5 wood
RBZ 4 hybrid
Wilson Staff Pi7 3 iron
2009 Burner irons 4-GW
Taylormade ATV 56 degree sand wedge
Taylormade Monza Spider putter
In the bullpen are a Bettinardi Big Ben putter, the RBZ driver, and a 60 degree Cleveland wedge.
Currently a high-single digit handicap hoping that the first full year of retirement gets make back to mid-single digits. Definitely due for a new set of irons, but I'm too lazy to undertake the search.

I suggest you go to demo day and get fitted for clubs. So many great clubs now just find what is right for you.

Oh I've been to demo days - I'm just too cheap to pay for new sticks and get fitted. I usually buy a two year old "new" set every few years. Plus we need WITB thread anyway. Heck it's an ER forum for crying out loud.

Some good golfers are responding here. I would have to travel deep in the back of the garage and wipe off a few years of dust to answer the OP's request.
I'm surprised to see the variety of brand names in the responses from most of the posters. Is this typical among folks with low handicaps? How does smorgasbord of clubs end up being a golfer's group of choice?

I am a duffer. No handicap yet, but determined to improve. I bought a set of Callaway Solaire clubs a couple of years ago, and on their first outing the head of the driver flew off! Callaway replaced that for free, but the same thing recently happened to the replacement. At this point I decided I needed a better driver and purchased a new adjustable Cobra. It's awesome. I can now regularly get the ball onto the green on a par 3. If only I could say the same for the rest of my game!

For me it's about what works and what I need. The odd club out in my set is the Wilson Pi7 3-iron. I can't hit a low shot with a hybrid under any circumstances, I'm a high ball hitter and hybrids are designed to get the ball up. Similarly, the burner irons are designed to get the ball up in the air. I need one club in the bag that allows me to hit a low, running shot. So, I've settled on that particular 3-iron. The Wilson irons didn't work for me as a set, but that one club fills a need.
Similarly, I am currently contemplating switching out the 5 wood and adding the 60 degree wedge back in. The 5 wood no longer seems to fill a useful gap between the 3 wood and the hybrid. I don't use the 60 degree very often, but there are a few cases where it is just the club that is needed.

Taylormade R-15 driver
Titleist 909 3 wood
Taylormade hybrid 3 rescue
Titleist ap-2 4-P
Volkey wedges
2 ball putter
I'm thinking about replacing my irons this year also. I've had the AP-2s since they first came out. I like them, it's just that they are looking a little rough.

Ram woods (old version - circa 1980), 1,3,& 5
Off brand 7 wood
Ping Eye2 Irons, 3 - SW
60 degree wedge (homemade - Golfsmith)
Ping Putter
The above still works OK.

I'm not into golf, but I do have a retirement house on a major lake. I've got 2 Robert Trent Jones golf courses on my street and another across Robert Trent Jones course across the lake--within eyesight.
And Alabama residents can play for $1,200 per year on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail--unlimited golf. This state is truly Golf Heaven. See: RTJGolf.com/theshoals

When you have been doing LBYM and you have RE'd (or about to), you can get the new clubs AND take lessons.
