Same in Azerbaijan. They come with the light kits and they throw them away. Dunno about teeth, but it would not surprise me.

When we bought our current place, one of the attractions (for me) was a nice large workshop that had a bathroom. First order of business, I thought, was to replace the old beat-up Luan paneling. When we tore it off, we realized that the wiring consisted of 5 to 6 foot pieces of various gauge Romex whose ends were just twisted together. Of course there were no wire nuts - just bare wire. But just to make things safer, the previous owner had stuffed insulation tightly into the wall over the wires.
After new wiring, new insulation, new plumbing and fixtures in the bathroom, new drywall, I've got a nice place to play.
