Here's a replacement service - I played with it a bit and was underwhelmed (and not surprised):

I don't think you'd be happy if you actually had a need to use the GOOG-411 service in the past, and then had it discontinued. It was really handy, saved me some time/money/gas at least once. It was nice to know it was there if I needed it.
One of the things that concerns me is that one of their explanations is that these features are available on smart phones now, so there isn't so much need. So low use "just gimme a phone" users like me are being marginalized. Of course, with Android they have a reason to push smart phone use.
Oh well, at 83 cents a month, I guess I deserve to be marginalized.
