We had a great celebration. Even though it was organized as a birthday party, guests came fully prepared to receive the New Year Latino style. An article of yellow underwear (not displayed), grapes, and at midnight everyone ran out of the house with a suitcase. DD's boyfriend and some of the neighbors think we're a little loopy, but that's because they don't know us. Nothing little about us.

The party was fantastic. In spite of major logistic issues everything went really well. Just goes to show the effect a positive attitude has on some situations.

DW and I haven't done anything on New Years Eve since 1990. It was a few days after Christmas 1990 when she got a phone call from Michigan that her mother had a heart attack and was in the hospital. By the time arrangements were made for DW and her sister to fly from Ft. Myers, FL, the earliest they could leave was New Years Eve. I flew up about a week later. Momma died on 1-13-91, the funeral was five days later and then the Gulf War started. Just some real bad memories from those days. DW has never been excited about New Years Eve since that time.

I grilled out a couple New York strip steaks, some mushrooms on the side and a couple great potatoes. Few glasses of wine. I'm in bed at 10:30. Haven't seen the ball drop for many years.
