Re: got satellite radio

I bought a new car in 2004, an end of year close out model equipped with an XM radio & a 3 month trial subscription. I didn't see any reason to continue it once the three months were up.

No satellite radio here- didnt you know you can also get radio right over the air with that thing that comes with your car?

There are also lots of free stations online- go to Itunes even if you dont have an ipod and listent to all sorts of radio stations.

Maybe im just too cheap- quite the possibility.

ditto. I thought I was going to love it -- I'm not a great music fan but some of the guys on the comedy station had me in stitches. Trouble was the REST of the comedy was not-funny obscenity delivered at a shout.

I haven't missed it.

I like it. I usually listen to BBC News, various music and comedy channels. It's nice when traveling by car - you don't have to look for stations in area. Also it has helped out traveling in major cities with traffic alerts

Re: got satellite radio?

We've had XM for several years in both of our cars and wouldn't know what to do without it. In the long run, it's much cheaper than buying cd's. I'm listening to XM right now on my computer for free, because we have a subscription for our cars. I hate regular radio with all the commercials.

Re: got satellite radio?

Shoot I lied. We get some XM stations for free with directv and we do listen to them now and then, although no more than the old non-xm commercial free digital stations that were of terrestrial origin.

What I will say is that the XM method of naming the channels drives me nuts. I'm sure "Fred" and "Lucy" works great as a marketing strategy to 20-somethings. "Light Jazz" and "50's Rock" work just fine for me. :P
