Greatest love songs ever

I have fallen in love with the voice of this mademoiselle, in a song that I stumbled on.

Note: I had to look up the Web to see what a Latécoère is.

Jardin d'hiver / Winter Garden

Je voudrais du soleil vert / I would like green sunshine
Des dentelles et des théières / Lace and teapots
Des photos de bord de mer / Photos of the seaside
Dans mon jardin d'hiver / In my winter garden

Je voudrais de la lumière / I would like light
Comme en Nouvelle Angleterre / Like in New England
Je veux changer d'atmosphère / I want to change the atmosphere
Dans mon jardin d'hiver / In my winter garden

Ta robe à fleur / Your flower dress
Sous la pluie de novembre / In the November rain
Mes mains qui courent / My running hands
Je n'en peux plus de t'attendre / I can't wait any longer for you

Les années passent / The years go by
Qu'il est loin l'âge tendre / That tender age is far away
Nul ne peut nous entendre / No one can hear us

Je voudrais du Fred Astaire / I would like some Fred Astaire
Revoir un Latécoère / See a Latécoère again
Je voudrais toujours te plaire / I would always like to please you
Dans mon jardin d'hiver / In my winter garden

Je veux déjeuner par terre / I want to have lunch on the ground
Comme au long des golfes clairs / Like along the clear gulfs
T'embrasser les yeux ouverts / Kiss you with your eyes open
Dans mon jardin d'hiver / In my winter garden

Ta robe à fleur / Your flower dress
Sous la pluie de novembre / In the November rain
Mes mains qui courent / My running hands
Je n'en peux plus de t'attendre / I can't wait any longer for you

Les années passent / The years go by
Qu'il est loin l'âge tendre / That tender age is far away
Nul ne peut nous entendre / No one can hear us
Dans mon jardin d'hiver / In my winter garden

Her voice is lovely and it reminds me of Astrud Gilberto who recently passed (she sang The Girl from Ipanema.)

I just looked to find out that Astrud Gilberto just died a few months ago at the age of 83.

About the Girl from Ipanema, some years ago I read that she was real, and an inspiration for the song composer.

Astrud was the singer, not the inspiration.

The actual girl from Ipanema who inspired Tom Jobim to write it was well known in Rio.

Great topic. Fun.

One of my favorites: Eric Clapton, "Bell Bottom Blues." Originally done by Derek & The Dominoes--- which included Clapton. Favorite line: "If I could choose a place to die, it would be in your arms." And yet, the forlorn one who's singing takes a swipe:

"...Bell Bottom Blues. Don't say goodbye. We're surely gonna meet again. And when we do, don't be surprised, if you find me with another lover..." DO YOU WANNA SEE ME CRAWL ACROSS THE FLOOR TO YOU? Such emotion.
Tune and words just seem to perfectly match in this song, in my opinion. I prefer this LIVE version:
