Green dot vs blue dot

This is driving me crazy. To the far left of your post is a dot next to a triangle. Sometimes it's green and sometimes it's blue. Can someone please explain to this stupid me what they mean. Also what's with the triangle? They usually don't change. Anyway while I'm at it. How are the stars figured and what do they mean. I always thought they had something to do with your number of posts or answers to people. Might as well get the whole scoop while I' at it.

If the dot on the left is green, it means the person is logged in to the forum. The red triangle is used to report a problem post to the moderators. The stars are proportional to the number of posts, but I forget the various levels at which a new star gets added.
