I find it priceless that there is no mention of performane enhancing drugs....even the NFL that actually has had a testing program, has had rumors of rampant growth hormone abuse, which they dont test for....

Right on! Somebody with a good knuckleball (Wilhelm retired at 50) could probably go past 50 with enough Aleve.

On August 6, 1959, Wilhelm nearly pitched a rare "no-hitter in relief." Relieving Billy O'Dell at the start of the ninth inning, Wilhelm held the White Sox hitless for 8⅔ innings before finally surrendering a hit in the 17th. Only Ernie Shore ever fashioned a longer spell of no-hit relief.

The state of pitching today - there is no way todays relief pitcher could last that long.
