Re: HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN GALT

Thank you one and all. It was a good day, capped
off by dinner with friends and spouse. I did cheat a little
on the wabmester diet (don't tell). Now, on into decade
no. 7.......................

If you were a Canadian John, you'd now be eligible for CPP.

John, I missed your Birthday!

Any cake left?

Hey, did you read that announcement by the SS that for trust fund economic reasons, they are delaying age 62 early retirements starting next year to age 64?

Nah, just kidding

Hope you had a good one!

Hi Telly! My spouse brought a "to die for" cheesecake
along to the restaurant. There were 2 pieces which she left for the staff. Sorry. About your joke re. raising the
early SS age to 64; Not funny! Not funny!

Hi JG,

Happy Birthday to you, as well.
Regarding your harping on your early demise, I think you'll probably out live us all and continue to celebrate your birthday for years to come.
I plan to live til 100, so make sure you have enough money to get you there.

Re: HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN GALT

Yep, I hope for the best and plan for the worst.
BTW, my Dad's side of the family has an extraordinary
number of long lived men (several over 100). This is good but I take nothing for granted. It may enhance my chances but life is still just a big crap shoot IMHO.

Take my brother............. please! (apologies to Henny Youngman). The guy is 58 and has overcome
some serious health problems. Kids are grown and gone. Wife makes plenty of money. He is still busting his pick every day and fighting Chicago traffic an hour and a half each way. Maybe he loves it. I don't get it.

Re: HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN GALT

Well, thank you one and all. Very nice.

While I am waiting for the package to arrive from TH,
I will now tell my "dog poo" story.

I have had Labradors for years. I usually live out in the country,
and so never bothered to pick up after my dogs. I love dogs, but not that much. Anyway, I had a neighbor who was a little nutty about big dogs, whether
they did anything naughty or not. One morning my lab made a large
deposit at the edge of his yard (half acre - way out
in the boondocks). I guess he was observing us because when
I came out later I found the entire "pile" on the hood of my Miata convertible. I was getting ready to move away
and said (to myself) "Ahhhhhhhhhh, we could just let this go" (A Rodney King moment "Can't we all just get along?"). You know, I just couldn't do it. I picked up
the evidence and "returned to sender", starting
his day with about a pound of Labrador manure stuck under his nose. He never liked my dog and now her stock was really dropping. We decided to scat.
That's the straight poop.

NOTE This has nothing whatsoever to do with ER.
