And don't forget about your flag, if you have one. On Memorial Day the flag is displayed at half staff until noon and at full staff from noon to sunset.

Here's a fascinating history lecture on the origins of Memorial Day, in Charleston after the civil war. According to the professor, it was created by African Americans recently freed from slavery.

As a Vet I appreciate the comments and thanks from so many. A Rotarian in my Club was featured in our news paper as a prisoner of war in a German POW Camp after being shot down in a B17. Not many of those old vets around anymore. Hal is pushing 90 and still sharp as a tack. I hope I can be as strong when I hit 90!
