I would really like to thank the members here for providing one of the most enjoyable gathering places I've ever found on the web.
Discovered this place early this year, and I really feel at home here. You folks are very welcome to stop by for a beer or coffee any time you're in the neighborhood.

New Year's Eve, so I'll probably be up well past 10 pm.
For any serious beer drinkers in the crowd, my after-dinner tipple this evening is a bottle of Westvleteren 12. For the rest of you, it's a veryveryveryveryvery good and hard to get beer.

We are ending the year back here in East Nowhere NY. We survived the Nor'easter and drove back today in sunny dry road conditions.

I'm going to glam up with a sparkly cocktail dress and silver heels in mid 40 degree temperatures.
Yes, you heard right. We're having a minor HEAT WAVE!!!!!

Pics may be posted later on if you ask nicely.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Woooooooo

After over a decade since the state supreme court overturned the previous regulations, Oahu finally managed to pass a bill banning almost all of the use of fireworks in public.

It takes effect on January 2.

I'm afraid that tonight is going to be, as our daughter says, "shockingly awesome".

The pic Mr Boston took turned out terrible (poor lighting), but here is a photo from 2005, same dress.

I really like that dress freebird. It sparkles like the stars in a big western sky at midnight. Hope you had fun. DH and I stayed home and started a wallpaper stripping project. How exciting are we?

At least we did stay up past midnight this year and toasted the new year. We were talking about how many "double numbers" seem to have collided in our lives, for example:

We were both born in '55
DH is retiring in '11
He has 33 years of service

If I was into numerology, which I'm not, I'd think all this meant something.

Neat numbers.

Well thank you for the compliment. I brought some sparkly pizzazz to a collective ensemble of otherwise drab clothing. I wore 2 inch black heels (which made my height a total of 5'9") with a vamp ankle strap and bows on da toes .
You should have seen Mr Boston in his dark blue suit. Hubba hubba
Next time we dress up, I will find someone who knows how to operate a cell phone camera and not take pictures that get oversaturated by the lights in the room background.

I will! I know your remark will tickle him to no end. Funny thing about my buddy....his tone of voice and expression rarely changes. I find that so flippin' funny about him.

I love the dress. Now about those shoes...did you have them on when you danced?
