At the time, I thought the link added to the understanding of the topic.
I find it remarkable how few comments centered on the actual topic I presented - women winning the right to vote in 1920. Instead, this has turned into a discussion on how men are treated unfairly.
For the record, I do think men often bear an unfair burden. I don't like it any more than the unfair treatment of any person. Clearly we have a long way to go in understanding each other.

Fair enough. But as you well know, any thread is an invitation to threadjacking. I prefer to think of it as thread piracy. Arrr, mateys, prepare to be boarded!

Random thoughts: We're having youth of America tear up and replace our sidewalk. Last week a healthy AmerInd looking gal was working a concrete bar, a 6' long, 1 1/4" thick steel bar for prying up slabs of 5" thick concrete. Today she's swinging a sledge to pop the chunks apart. Notable because she's a she, but she's doing the job. Well. Ooohrah! My gal cooks and cleans, I do dishes and replace toilets, put down pets. Either of us can do the other jobs, but it works the way it is. I've seen the work she does and the relative compensation - she has this PollyAnna idea that merit is automatically compensated fairly and that she need not ask for her due. I think of that as a female trait.
Were there a need and I was down there is no doubt she would turn into a rabid wolverine. Think of that as sort of a female trait as well.

Nice beam to length ratio, I'd volunteer for the hauling across her beam.

Be careful what you ask for. Do we really want to get into a discussion of the impact of female voting on the quality of leaders elected? Representative samples:

Post: LBJ, Carter

Adam Lambert who was in the musical The Ten Commandments with Val Kilmer who was in Heat with Robert Dinero who was in Sleepers with KEVIN BACON!
Who’s Adam Lambert? Runner up on American Idol. I’m a fan. And yes, I know he’s gay. Who cares with his voice and looks (hey, if this thread’s getting’ hijacked, I’m sending it in a direction of interest to the Purrzinski)

Doubtful. Adam was discussed quite a bit on the American Idol thread during the season and, far as I can tell, the gay porn spammers haven't showed up in droves....yet
