Hello, the hummingbirds are back!

Male bright red neck, Ruby Throated made a dive bomb at the empty feeder yesterday evening. Filled the feeder up and today the dude is having a ball. These birds are the coolest. Feeder is at a corner of the deck, the bird gets so close to me as I was standing maybe 2 feet you can hear the humm and chirps.

Every year they nest on top of our wind chime. Pretty neat little things. They get pissed when I head out to grill.

This was taken last year. When they arive they ARIVE!


Based on one feeder the estimate is over 70 birds feeding. I have seen 25 or so at one time on the feeder.

Rustic - that is an amazing photo. At first glance I just saw the one bird, but looking again saw just how many were at the feeder. Amazing!

The most Ive seen at our feeder is 3? Damn neighborhood cats always come around trying to catch them.
