holiday gifts for acquaintances

For the past two years, my mother has given the office staff at the senior center a bottle of wine ~$15. This year she wants to do something else.

This is for five people; both male and female.

I am not keen on her idea of boxes of chocolates.

I was thinking those big candied apples.

Other ideas?

Is this for each individual or for the group?

little basket of hot drink fixings(coffee, tea, hot chocolate, hot cider), along with a set of mugs/cups
gift card to local mall/store/coffee shop
nice flower/holiday arrangement for the office

Individual.

Frustrating because people have different tastes when it comes to coffee/food.

I suppose a gas card would be best. No one is going to toss that away (I think).

I used to give a bunch of $25 gift cards for the local supermarket to my mailman, newspaper deliverer, barber, and folks like that. DW likes to give gift cards for places like Panera, Starbucks, etc.

Maybe she should consider gifting some variety of a multi-restaurant gift card. Kroger carries several different kinds of these, and I honestly believe that people like getting them as gifts because they can use them at whichever restaurant they like best.

Something like this, for example:
