Poll:How Long Have you been retired - by age group
The thread below gave us an idea of the age of the people on this board.
This poll is to find out how long people have been retired by age groups.
Round the months up or down to the nearest year group.
Again, this is a poll. This is a poll for those who are retired, so you vote above.

I'm 62 and will have 6 years in January. We are in that early boomer group that always seems to be setting trends. Every time I hear of a new trend it seems I have been doing it for a while (like cycling is the new golf). I guess Er at mid 50's was one. The only trend I skipped was the mega-mansion LAYM (live above your means) lifestyle a lot of our peers chose. But they won't be responding to this poll.

68, retired 4 months. The nearest year group would be 0? Well, I voted 1, there being no group 0.

Ah, I'm the Old Man in the group again. Fully retired for 17 years, since age 53, now 71. Born in 1939, I'm older than the Baby Boomers, belonging to the "Silent Generation". Do I strike you as silent?

Looks like 55-59 is the mode.
No surprise there. 55 is the beginning of official early retirement for most companies.

What makes this type of poll somewhat irrelevant is that so many "retired" folks still have working spouses.
