How to Get Lubed

Caveat: I got this in an email. It may be the usual email nonsense. But... Looks like a real California tv news segment. Take a look at it. It'll only take a jiffy.

Resist much. Obey Little. . . . Ed Abbey

Great tape. I wish I were surprised. Some years back Sears Automotive was caught in some similar scam; it may have involved shocks.

It is definitley worth it to find someone you can trust and try to take all your business to him.

Surprisingly, the same handful of jiffy lubes in so cal got caught doing this stuff by the same news crew over a period of about 3-4 years. Each time the jiffy lube management swore they were going to re-educate their employees to stop this stuff. Turns out they were just teaching them how to spot news crews and hidden cameras. No joke.

I used to take my truck to jiffy lube until the dealer told me that the chassis hadnt been lubed...ever. Three years. When I called the JL manager, he said their computer says that truck has no lube points. Two zerks, plain as day, right on the bottom of the ball joints. He offered me a half price oil change to make it up to me.

No thanks.

But heres a good book to bring with you to read while they're 'servicing' you...

Be fearful when others are greedy, and greedy when others are fearful. Just another form of "buy low, sell high" for those who have trouble with things. This rule is not universal. Do not buy a 1973 Pinto because everyone else is afraid of it.
