Re: Huh?
Yeah, but these kinds of puzzles usually have nothing to do with math or the numbers. They are think-out-of-the-box tests. Personally, I think my answer is dumb, but sometimes dumb works.

Re: Huh?
i think your answer was completely commensurate with parade magazine and you might be right. no offense or judgment intended but it was martha who was out of the box. though apparently she's gone back in her box.

Re: Huh?
My money goes 111.
Add the individual numbers by themselves, 1+1+1=3, a prime number. All the others add to non prime numbers.

The answer may well be 111, but not for the reason you give. I'm guessing that 90% of Parade Magazine readers don't know what a Prime number is.

That works, Wab. Each is one hour and 11 minutes later.
I think this is a "what doesn't fit in the sequence" rather than "what doesn't belong" puzzle.

Re: Huh?
Hmmm...parade had the question:
What is common to these three-digit numbers in addition to the repeating digits: 111, 222, 333, 444, 555, 666, 777, 888, 999?
But I didnt see the one listed above.

Too many possible answers. They are all divisible by 3 (and 111). They are all palindromes. And the sum of the digits are increasing multiples of 3.

I was thinking maybe the OP's question was a typo...
By the way, the answer to the question I posed from Parade is contained in the question itself...

To add, they all have 3 digits and are all divisible by 37.

Re: Huh?
I saw this in Parade yesterday. The given answer is 666 since it can't be displayed on a clock. My answer was 111, since it is the only number that, when spelled, begins with a vowel. Guess it depends on how you look at it!
