I H8 Crocs!

I really don't like those shoes, crocs. People have often told me how comfy, etc they are but I don't like the look and I don't care for fads. This article on Newsweek.com was just too hilarious!

Hmm, people who are on their feet all of the time wearing them? Seems like a pretty good testimonial for their comfort.

My son (7 years old) loves his. He is really looking good when he wears them with shorts and socks!

I personally question any adult male who wears them. I think what's wrong with him.

When we were in Berlin this past spring, my feet were killing me due to too tight walking shoes. I was in PAIN...(lost my toe nail later) While at the Berlin train station waiting for our train to Munich, I said I HAD to buy some new shoes when I spotted a shoe store at the train station. They had CROCs.....the first pair that I ever bought since, I too, thought they were horrid. I wore those black Crocs for the rest of my vacation - love the things.

I'm now the proud owner of 3 pairs. The regular ugly one, some sandals and a pair of flip flops. I think I'm over my fashion snootyness and have arrived at the age of COMFORT.

A New York parent is suing Crocs for $7 million, claiming his 3-year-old daughter was "severely and permanently injured" when one of her pink, holed shoes was sucked into an airport escalator last year.
The complaint, filed this week by Jeffrey Hochberg in the U.S. District Court in New York, claims that Emma Hochberg was injured on Nov. 14, 2007, after her right shoe was caught in an escalator at LaGuardia Airport in New York City.
"The skin was peeled off her toe," Andrew Laskin, the attorney representing the Hochberg family, told the New York Daily News earlier this week. "It's a pretty horrifying injury. And it's also horrible for a parent to witness your child injured in this wayand suffering."
Speaking to the Camera on Friday, Laskin said he would not go into additional detail about the accident or Emma's injuries, adding that she is still in treatment under a doctor's care and "continues to suffer from the effects of the injury."
Laskin lambasted Niwot-based Crocs (Nasdaq: CROX, $31.99) for selling what he considers to be shoes worn for the outdoors as "everyday footwear."
"It's not everyday footwear. It's especially dangerous on escalators, and this is something (Crocs has) known about for quite some time," Laskin said. "And they just don't seem to be doing anything about it."
This isn't the first report of injuries stemming from the treads of rubber Crocs shoes getting caught in riveted escalator steps.
According to news reports, a Singapore girl's big toe was ripped off in November 2006; a 3-year-old girl had to have two toes partially amputated after an April 2007 incident when her shoe got stuck in the teeth of an escalator at an Atlanta airport; and a 4-year-old Virginia boy wearing a pair of navy Crocs lost a toenail in an escalator accident in September 2007 that sent his mother into a panic and landed him in the emergency room.
"It's somewhat ironic that kid after kid keeps getting the same kind of injury," Laskin said. "And Crocs keeps on saying it's a fluke."
Crocs officials have defended their shoes following such accidents, saying they are very concerned about escalator safety.
"We have not been served with the suit, so we can't comment on the specifics," Crocs officials said Friday in a written statement. "However, escalator safety is an issue we take very seriously, and we are looking into this report."
In September, a Crocs official contacted the Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation, the Alabama-based nonprofit organization's executive director told the Washington Post.
Barbara Allen told the paper that Crocs agreed to design a tag for its shoes and put up kiosks in malls to make people aware of escalator safety, but the company did not get back in touch, according to the report.
Ashley Rains, a spokeswoman for the organization, on Friday said there has been communication, but considering the small size of the organization and the large size of Crocs, there hasn't been time to sit down.
"There hasn't been any follow-up," Rains said. "It's no fault of either one of us."

I've pondered trying Crocs, but they never really appealed to me. I did find some really comfortable footwear for playing in the gardens though. They're Mucksters. They're soooo comfortable that I wear them almost all the time.....in the yard/gardens, to the store, on day trips, just about everywhere! Because of their lining, my feet don't even get sweaty & stinky!!!

They ain't cheap....but they're worth every penny I paid for 'em!!

I'm a Keens guy myself if I'm out and don't want my sneaks on. They make a great shoe for kayaking because they give good grip on rocky bottoms, they have a covered toe to protect you when you get out, and they have a heel strap so they stay snug. But they're pretty open for cooling. And great arch support too!

Wondered why at the Busch tour in St Louis. Anyone with crocs was not allowed on the escalator part of the tour. Now I know!

Anyone ever try the Vibram Five Fingers? They look really cool and I've heard that they are very comfortable. I don't know how I'd like the individual toe "sockets" though.

I think crocs are hideous too. I am all for comfort, but I also like to be somewhat fashionable when I leave my house. And I just can't see them going well with anything. I think I will stick with my sneakers, flats, and flip flops when I want comfort
