I tried to cheat on you, but no one is good enough

I have spent some time lately on a forum for railroad enthusiasts, as I like trains and am taking a long train trip in a few days. One of the moderators has nearly 12,000 posts! Anyway, it is hard to get a lively discussion going about anything. I tried to start one about search and seizure issues but no one cared.

Example of a recent post: "Nov. 1 took Train 47 Rensselaer-Chicago"
Response: "Isn't that train 49?"

So much for trying out a new forum.

Whereas on this forum you can get a lively discussion going about nothing. Hmmmm. Didn't this forum really take off about the time Sienfeld ended his show?

BTW, where is Greg? Did he get his feelings hurt and hide under the bed in the basement again?

If you see him, tell him REW says:

"Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes
for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress,
non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice
holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious
persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with
respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of
others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at
all. We also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and
medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally
accepted calendar year 2006, but not without due respect for the
calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society
have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is
necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America
in the Western Hemisphere. And without regard to the race, creed,
color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the
wishee."

Martha: Actually the train # is 51.

I read your other post re: train trip, and you are apparantly going to be taking the trip alone.

Greg, I'm sure, will be able to put his free time to good use. (There's a world of possibilities, and lots of "new friends" he can add to his collection by the time you get back).

Anyway, have a great trip. (Sounds like fun)!

Remember, if you run into a leach, that inquires whether you're married or not, tell him to get his own friggen blanket.

P.S. My family is all here, and nobody up yet, (Christmas Morn.), and plenty of time to get in trouble.

I think it used to be train 47, but with inflation it's become train 49.

It's 49 according to government CPI numbers, which we all know are manipulated in order to fund a fleet of black helicopters. The "real" train number is 49.14159265358979323846264338327950288419716939937 5105820974944592307816406286208998628034825

Re: I tried to cheat on you, but no one is good enough

My husband is a rail fan, we have attended several model rr conventions. I found the group very nice and usually with spouse in tow.

Unless the board is closely moderated wierdos will test new posters.

Australia offers a Special Rail Pass, to Tourists, you are able to travel the whole continent, incliding the Ghan, for a few hundred dollars.

The same trips cost Australians thousands, plus you get to meet a lot of fellow travellers.

I always use the trains extensivly when in Europe, no fuss, they arrive in the centre of town, plus I can enjoy the scenery.

York in England has a fantastic train museum.

Australia also offers a special Retirees Visa for up to 2 years.

I have never done the Orient Express, but one day??
