I'm completly lost.. any help would be awesome!

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong area but I was looking and this seemed like a place to go for assistance. I'm 24 and until about two years ago I was in the Army. I caught a bug while serving overseas and was "medically discharged" from the military but I recently found out since my disability rating from the VA is 40% that I should have been "medically retired" what can I do?

I'm very lost in all this and sadly there isn't a lot of helpful people at my old unit. The only person that has been remotely helpful has been the VA Rep that told me that I was qualified for Medical Retirement.

Any Insight would be greatly appreciated as I'm really lost.

Seth, a lot of folks in your shoes end up here thanks to the miracle that we know as Google. One of our retired military guys compiled this information, hope it helps: (FAQ archive) Military member who's confronting an early medical retirement?
