In memory of Patrick Swayze

Oh, that was filmed here in Charleston! We all stood around and gawked at the stars, plus they put dirt down on a bunch of streets downtown. As a kid, I thought that was great fun!
He was very hunky in his uniform, that's for sure!

I loved Dirty Dancing. I loved the character of Patrick Swayze and his real life love story. He died too young. My heart goes out to his widow.

I'm a big fan of "Red Dawn."
Runningbum, thanks for reminding me about Point Break as that was a fabulous movie also. It was one of those where you almost were rooting for the bad guys to be able to get away with it.
Those two and "Road House" were perennial submarine-force favorites. I know several crews who wore out the "Road House" movies/videotapes.

IIRC Steve Jobs is one of the few "celebrity" pancreatic cancer survivors. Maybe survival rates are indeed linked to having an avocation or other [-]insanely angry[/-] strong will to live.
