Interesting phising scam

Last week I had an email sent to my business email. It was obviously someone on a phising expidition.

Yesterday I received a letter in the mail addressed to my deceased husband from Costco (or so the envelop said). Opened it up and it was the same email but printed out on cheap stationary with no information other than an email address to contact a man about this wonderful way to get lots of money...supposedly from a dead person with same last name who probably isn't even related to me.

The email I didn't mind, get them on occasion. This is the first time that I've gotten a letter. Kind of freaked me out. Wondering if they somehow put together my email address with my name and then connected me to my husband. Or if they are just sending letters and emails to everyone with the last name, of which there are plenty.

Anyway, interesting twist on an old scam. The letter came from Canada, in an official Costco envelope.
