iOS 11 Files?

I am fine with iOS 11, at least some of the changes are for the better IMO.

The new Files app threw me for a while though. All of my existing Numbers spreadsheets appear in Files, Numbers, etc. - but about 2/3rds of them simply won't open/run now that I have iOS 11. When I try to delete them, I get something like "file doesn't exist" - so I am stuck with some dead files for now.

When I tried to send a working spreadsheet from my iPad to my iPhone, when I open it on my iPhone it's a pdf or screen capture, not a working spreadsheet - that's useless of course! But I found that if I put in on iCloud from my iPad, I could then open and save it local on my iPhone. Since the first 5GB is free on iCloud and I don't care about having spreadsheets reside on iCloud permanently, I can live with using iCloud to copy files to other devices as a workaround.

Maybe I'm missing something, but it appears Apple is forcing me to use iCloud to copy files to other devices where I could just text or email them before. Progress?

YMMV
