Yep, after three days in the summertime it apparently did reek...

Kotarac's body was not discovered until a house-sitter noticed a stench and fluids coming from the fireplace Saturday, according to a police statement.

Would be interesting to see if there was any stalking charges, or domestic issues prior.

Also, interesting to see cause of death.

Here's the preliminary cause...

Her preliminary cause of death is listed as mechanical asphyxiation, meaning her chest could not expand in the small space.

OK, I've been trying to resist, but I just cannot...

The house-sitter and her son investigated with a flashlight and found Kotarac dead, wedged about two feet above the top of the interior fireplace opening.
Unconfirmed reports quote the son telling the police, "We thought maybe a squirrel was caught in the chimney. I was shocked to look up the fireplace and see a beaver."

I don't know about the "beaver" story but did hear on TV that the baby sitter made the discovery through the odor coming from the chimney and the "fluids" dripping onto the logs. How sick is that? That doctor (loose term) was warped.
