Re: Land of the Free??
I'm not sure what to make of all of this. The rescuer should at least have charges dropped and get a formal apology from the police chief. Gov't is always despairing about the lack of citizen involvement, but when one does help he gets arrested. This is absurd.
There were no police in the water at the time, so how could he be interfering? The guy should get a medal. You listening, Governor Perry?
BTW, Kinky Friedman is running for Gov of Tx. Should be an interesting campaign.

Kinky's motto is: "How hard could it be?" He's gonna appoint Willie Nelson as head of the Texas Rangers. If he gets on the ballot, I'm voting for him.

Kinky Friedman, former musician (Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jewboys), former songwriter (Get Your Biscuits In The Oven and Your Buns In Bed), former member of the Peace Corps, former mystery novelist, soon to be former politician. But it is definitely fun to watch...

Most dangerous people I've ever met were the ones that if they didnt know how something worked or how something was done, presumed it couldnt be very hard.

Hey, you're hitting close to home. DW's favorite saying is "That's easy!"
"I can do it!"
