I may be in the market for a used car soon (presently driving 2007 Chevy Aveo Hatchback, bought used) and drive the car about 2000-3000 miles per year.

I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas on some make and models that wouldn't cost that much to insure since I will have to get a newer car maybe year 2013-2016. I live in Massachusetts, single, 61, great driver and want to keep my insurance costs down to a minimum.

Thanks

I’ve never driven one, but I’m thinking the Toyota Camry will be near the top of the list. My understanding is that they’re one of the most reliable cars out there and hopefully that translates into less maintenance. Insurance may follow suit, however, don’t fixate on insurance, try to calculate the overall cost of ownership. No sense on getting the best insurance and driving a gas guzzler with high maintenance cost.

Anything Kia or Hyundai that is not rusted out (you live in Mass, right?). Elantra or Accent/Rio are good buys on the cheap. Very reliable, too.
