The Wax Museum is a fun place for pictures. Here's youngest son playing Secret Service dude for the Kennedys three years ago at the Los Vegas location:

Amazing photos and most of them look almost exactly like the in-the-flesh inspiration. I didn't know there was a Mme Tussaud's in either NYC or LV. I have been to one before, in London in 2000.

Their artists are getting much better, but a few of the celebs still look a little off. Woody Allen is a little off and JFK looks more like Jimmy Carter. Satchmo and Oprah are bang-on, though. Could barely recognize The Bruce. The headband gave it away.

At London's Tussaud's I had a photo taken with my arm around Einstein and another photo with the Dali Lahma. Both are so realistic looking that people actually think they're real..ha!
As usual, some of more spot on than others; however, always a blast to look at Tussaud's sculptures. I love them! You wander around their museums and just look with your eyes wide and mouth open...very cool. So worth the entrance fee to see.
They had a special awhile ago on how these wax figures are made on tv. Very exacting, and the people they are copying have to spend an entire day standing, so they can measure how far it is from one point to another on their face and body. Glad I'm not famous.

I never pay the tariff for the local wax museum, a couple of blocks from the free chocolate, just beyond the free maritime museum, but enjoy the freebies they put out front, a revolving display, changed frequently, of three current celebrities and a prisoner in black and white stripes escaping up a rope. While traveling I do spring for the entry fees, they never disappoint, especially liked the one in Madrid, and would never pass up the one in London.
I've been going to movies to get through this rainy cold season; that's a good idea, Mathjak, to get out but be indoors. There's a geocache near there I haven't found yet; try try again.
