Yowwer - She's a slinky one! Are the roadblocks to frugality the crossdressers?

THAT'S what was odd about the 3 backup singers.
I got distracted trying to figure out what they were singing (no audio except Eartha Kitt's voice) vs what they looked like.
It was a very old recording, so crossdressers was the last thing I expected. Unless of course, you're pulling our leg.

Here are the lyrics, I think Eartha was singing to a person who does not follow LBYM philosophy:

Eartha Kitt Lyrics -Santa Baby

Santa Baby

Santa Baby, slip a sable under the tree, For me.
been an awful good girl, Santa baby,
so hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa baby, a 54 convertible too,
Light blue.
I'll wait up for you dear,
Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight.

Think of all the fun I've missed,
Think of all the fellas that I haven't kissed,
Next year I could be just as good,
If you'll check off my Christmas list,

Santa baby, I wanna yacht,
And really that's not a lot,
Been an angel all year,
Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa honey, there's one thing I really do need,
The deed
To a platinum mine,
Santa honey, so hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa cutie, and fill my stocking with a duplex,
And checks.
Sign your 'X' on the line,
Santa cutie, and hurry down the chimney tonight.

Come and trim my Christmas tree,
With some decorations bought at Tiffany's,
I really do believe in you,
Let's see if you believe in me,

Santa baby, forgot to mention one little thing,
A ring.
I don't mean on the phone,
Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight,
Hurry down the chimney tonight,
Hurry, tonight.

No, they troubled me too - what the heck were the weird folk doing on the same stage mucking up Eartha's burlesque? I'm guessing they have been digitally added - and that they are crossdressers, but maybe they're just really un-hot women. To me.

Her Santa Baby was a huge hit at Christmas, 1953. I was twelve, and went to a Christmas party in my friend's 50s basement ( locally known as a rathskeller) where we all snuck a little booze, smoked, danced to Santa Baby and smooched a little.

I think she was my first celebrity crush. Want to see sexy, have a look at her hit C'est Si Bon also on You-Tube. I thought she must have been from somewhere in the Caribbean because her French and her English were both so good. Turns out she is a rape child from South Carolina. Eartha Kitt - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The crossdresser angle I didn't understand either until I came across this from the Wiki cited above:

In 1984, she returned to hit music with a disco song, "Where Is My Man", the first certified Gold record of her career. "Where Is My Man" reached the Top 40 on the UK Singles Chart, where it peaked at #36;[4] the song also made the Top 10 on the US Billboard dance chart, where it reached #7.[5] Kitt found new audiences in nightclubs across the UK and the US, including a whole new generation of gay male fans, and she responded by frequently giving benefit performances in support of HIV/AIDS organizations.

Among other big shots she dated Charles Revson.

Amazing woman, amazing performer.

Ha

Ha
aaaahhhhh...the ol' Rathskellar trick. It sounds like that was a fun time.
I do remember the Santa Baby song but never deciphered the exact words. I went to Youtube and listened to several of her songs. I never heard any of her disco songs. I was dancing to early disco in the mid 70s but lost track of it all when I went to college in 76. I morphed from Party Dancing Girl into Get Serious about a Career Girl.
She has a beautiful face, very exotic. I can see why you guys would look twice.

I have turned on the local radio station, and an advertiser (strip club) is using small parts of this song in their ad.
