Military urban legends

This story's been around for a while, but this is the first time I've seen the picture. And I'm sure the story improves with each telling.

Caption--
The car was a '68 Fury and the bow shot is off the USS ENTERPRISE (CVN-65).

In 1979, the "Big E" was departing Subic Bay for a long overhaul (it would be 3 yrs).* The fighter squadron which owned the vehicle was being deployed to the East Coast and would no longer be needing it in the PI.* It was decided to bring it on board and "launch the Alert 5 Dodge".

Our tax dollars at work, folks...

Re: Military urban legends

I think it was a nice diversion from our military's main purpose
(killing people and breaking things). I for one, have no problem with a little tomfoolery in the military and they can use my
money too. Someone is going to waste it anyway, once they get
it away from me.

Shortly thereafter, the dodge became the latest addition to our submarine fleet.
