Need help with HTC Android cable

The phone is working fine, but the charge cord is damaged;
Where do I buy a new cord?
Is a data cable the same thing as a charge cable?
Every one I've found says it's a micro usb, I don't think I have anything to plug a micro into.
Is the end that plugs into the phone anything standard?
Thank you.

If you have a Kindle, the same charger cord will work on the HTC phone.

Yes, one end of the cable is standard and will plug into the USB port of a computer or into a USB wall charger. The other end varies but most every smart phone is a micro USB type B cable.

Thanks, that's what I needed to know.

Would Best Buy or Radio Shack have these things?

Yes, but take your phone with you to make sure you're getting the right cable.

You might even be able to find a generic charger at Wal-Mart.

But if any of this advice helps solve your problem, then we want to know what critter damaged the cord!

HTC phones use microUSB plug for charging. You should be able to find generic cable for less than $5. Try finding at Radioshack or Walmart or Target. Even those kiosks at local mall should carry (the ones that carry phone cases and other bling bling stuff)

If you can wait, you can order it from dealextreme.com / dx.com Its a HongKong based store and you will find it for less than $2. Meritline.com is a similar store based in the US.

amazon.com and ebay have also proven useful in buying cheapo cables like a micro USB. I recently bought one for $0.99 from Ebay. Works great.
