Well, I bought an new toy this morning ..... a baritone uke.

Don't know the first thing about playing......  but working on "my dog
has fleas" at the present. 

I'll let you know when I start "tip toeing through the tulips".

Me too! My friend left one at our house while he travels this summer. If you know some chords on guitar they are easily transcribed to the ukulele. Finger a chord shape like you would on a guitar (lower 4 strings), and you'll be playing a chord that's the 4th. For example D shape on guitar is G on uke. G is C. A is D.

To make a song sound Hawaiian try the 'vamp'. If playing in G play a A7 then D7 then G7. It's always 2, then 4 then 1.
If you throw that it for the intro, break or outro of any song it will make it sound hawaiian. (or course there is a lot more to it that I don't know.)
