I also had my windows replaced by Window World. They have a lifetime guarantee on the windows. They came in and were done in a day and I can already feel the difference in heat transference from the old windows to the new ones. The cost to me was about $300 per window. My initial figures for taxes this year was I would owe, but it turned out I received a refund, so with that and the tax credit I kicked in about $1000, so the repayment period should be very short.

You don't want to work. You want to live like a king, but the big bad world don't owe you a thing. Get over it--The Eagles

We replaced all of our windows, (some were not properly sealed and the frames were rotting) ten years ago.
We chose Andersen Renewal because of their reputation and the fact that they are custom made to fit the rough openings.
Not cheap, but they are great! Ten years and still just like new. Seal well and low E glass. My annual heating costs, here in SW Minnesota,(ground source heat pump) are under $600.
