I guess they may have to do it one more time next Sunday against the Bills since Brissett tore ligament in the index finger in his throwing hand and may require surgery.

So much for the Brissett era. If Jimmy G. can't go, looks like the Pats will either use Edelman (might be fun/funny to watch) or hire a QB for 1 week before Brady returns.

Problem solved!!! The Patriots just signed a new quarterback for week 4.... a relative unknown named Tim Grady....

You don't do this in this league by luck. I realize that a lot people outside NE hate Belichick for his arrogance and pushing the envelop on the rules but they can't deny he's the best coach in the game today.

As some people say.... it is not arrogance if you can back it up... then again...

Given the high level of successful results that he and the Patriots have had, I don't see much arrogance there... they are (at least publicly but I suspect privately as well) quite respectful of their competitors and rarely boastful.
Not a Patriot fan here, but it is quite obvious that Belechik is the best NFL coach since Vince Lombardi. That doesn't mean you have to like him, but it's the truth.

He's playing baseball. Besides, Edelman is probably better.

Barth for Barwin could have been your app using autocorrect automatically, right?

Nope. I'm probably a dying breed who enters text using a computer instead of via app and auto correct .

It would really be fun to see Edelman, he's a real gamer.

Agreed... I'm not sure how well he can pass but his mobility would keep a defense on its toes. I can't imagine him sliding on a scramble as he seems to like to hit and get hit. Tough little dude.

That said, IIRC he has on NFL pass attempt that was completed for a touchdown so he may not want to spoil his perfect record. While I recall the flea-flicker pass interestingly, his passing stats show no attempts.

I've read a few sports clips saying that Edelman will not be the QB. He's their best receiver, so NE would be without their best receiver if he was QB. Also, he's not much of a pass threat, so the defense would rush everyone - too much of a chance for injury. One clip I read suggested Gronk as QB - that at his size he would be less susceptible to sacks and injury.

I dunno... Gronk is pretty injury prone to begin with even though he is a big guy. Who's the QB for Boston College and what are his plans next Sunday? I still think that Tim Grady guy would be worth a try.

They also have a tight end on their roster by the name of AJ Derby who played QB in Arkansas for 3 years before converting to tight end in his senior year......Also the senior QB from Foxboro HS was seen practicing with Josh McDaniels at Gillette this morning.

But seriously, if on Monday Belichick thinks that Garoppolo and Brissett can't go he will sign TJ Yates who visited Gillette last week or another QB with some NFL experience.

I think you are right... just need someone who can take a snap, hand off and throw 10 yards since they will inevitably keep it simple... seemed to work well on Thursday night and the Bills defense is not near as good as the Texans defense.

Even if they lose to the Bills and are 3-1 when Brady returns that would be good... 4-0 would be a bonus.

Biggest surprise of the day was the Steelers getting crushed by the Eagles and their rookie QB Wentz. The second surprise was the Buffalo Bills easily beating the Arizona Cardinals.
