Maybe whomever does the voting (sports writers?) starting voting mid season before Rodgers went on that big run?

MVP voting in any sport always carries a subjective element. By most valuable, is that the best stats? Or the most important to the team? Plus, how far does the team go in the playoffs? Those factors, right or wrong come into play.

I don't know the rules as far as when the votes are done but I feel they should only be able to be submitted during the week between the end of the regular season and the start of the playoffs. I can only assume the votes for Carr came in before his injury which shouldn't happen.

I think the announcement of who won shouldn't even happen til after the SB. I believe in baseball, the MVP isn't announced until a few weeks after the world series.

The pre-anouncement, IMO, adds a bit of distraction to the SB. The point about Carr, leads me to think again that a lot of the voting happened during the course of the season. The Falcons and Cowboys pretty much dominated their way to the post season.

I'm gonna tune all the SB coverage hype (about 7:30 am as I type) which I bet is starting about now and just watch the, hopefully, very exciting game.

I'm just happy the Texans made it to the "Superbowl" again. Oops, sorry about that, I mean the Superbowl made it to Texas again.

As I have said before, it looks like the only way the Texans are going to the Superbowl, is if they buy tickets like everyone else.

To pause the SB or not on my DVR? That's the question.

Usually, I just pause an hour ahead and skip past the commercials. But if the game is a blowout, the commercials may be the best part (like that SB between Seattle and Denver a few years back).

I'll probably pause anyhow (can anyone say pee break ), but will have to block all outside communication. Especially from a brother who likes to talk live sports. One phone call or text can ruin the entire drama.

I would bet that they do not have to buy a ticket if they want to watch... just show up and watch...

I may have to revise this.

I'm hoping it's not over either. If it is this has been the worst NFL playoff year I can remember. Hope the Pats can come back to make a game of it.

Normally I would prefer a close, tough fought game. However, the worse NE can lose, the better.

Well I'm a Pats fan, but that first half was hard to watch. The Falcons have more than earned this win so far...

The guy who bet $1.1 MIL on the Falcons is looking like a genius now.

So far, the Pats just can't seem to run, catch, pass or kick today. I never would have guessed it would be this one sided. Brady may set a record for getting sacked.

Yes. Good to see a breath of life in the Pats but probably still too many missed opportunities.
