Got all involved in the college bit and directed members to Niche and the college section... My bad.

Niche is an excellent website that goes far beyond just colleges, but goes in to neighborhoods and businesses and availability of jobs, and ratings of companies where you might be or have been employed. Growing every day.

City-Data.com - Stats about all US cities - real estate, relocation info, crime, house prices, cost of living, races, home value estimator, recent sales, income, photos, schools, maps, weather, neighborhoods, and more


At the very, very least, learn about your own city/town.


Put both of these in your favorite places, or you will be left behind.

That's because no one living full time in Vineyard Haven actually works there. The workers are seasonal (for the most part), or they take the ferry over in the morning.

I envy you for being able to live there back when it was affordable. Beautiful place.

I looked at Area Vibes and really wonder about some of their findings. For our area, they show a "C+" for housing but just below that shows #1 BIG CITY HOUSING "award" badge; that makes no sense to me.

Great resource. I had no idea of our crime rate. And I agree with the reviews, campus town has lost its character. To many high rise apartment buildings. We're stuck here for awhile and might as well enjoy the good things.
