Theres a joke in here about bears and peaches, but I cant put my finger on it...

I'm taking this printout to the dojang tonight! You just can't get this kind of real-world self-defense experience from training & sparring...

Admittedly a true martial artist would have never blundered into that situation in the first place, let alone tripped while "moving laterally".

If this was a Bible retreat, was anyone praying?

What the heck were they doing? If they were being noisy (or had bells or other noisemakers like they should hiking through bear habitats) the mother bear would've heard them and taken the cub away as they approached. If they saw the cub alone any idiot should know there's a protective mother nearby and should've turned around and walked quickly away from the cub.

They're leaving something out of the story here. They quietly approached an apparently lone cub and startled the nearby mother.

Yep bells and pepper spray.

You can tell grizzly poop by the bells in it and a faint odor of peppers...
