Odd INFO acquired using Google

I have always heard that vodka could not be detected on your breath like other alcoholic bevereages can. Accouding to this, I was correct all along, but had never actually taken the time to google it up.

Quote:
Vodka DOES NOT have a detectable smell on your breath, contrary to what the above two replies claim.

An excerpt: " In the second half of the 20th century, vodka owed its popularity in part to its reputation as an alcoholic beverage that "leaves you breathless", as one ad put it — no smell of liquor remains detectable on the breath, and its neutral flavor which allows it to be mixed into a wide variety of drinks, often replacing other liquors (particularly Gin) in traditional drinks, such as the Martini.
Vodka does not smell on the breath it seems. Is that so and why not? Why do other drinks smell on the breath? - Yahoo! Answers

I wouldn't count on it! Besides, smell isn't the only indication that someone has been drinking.

Anyone can post any "information" or misinformation they want on the internet. Yahoo answers is particularly suspect as individual answers are positioned on the site as if they are definitive and factual.

If you are really interested in this, it's a very short and easy experiment you can do yourself to debunk this notion.

The body breaks ethanol down into aldehydes, which sure as hell you can smell.

You can't fool a breathalyzer anyway.

Agreed. I would like to block "Yahoo answers" (guesses?) from my google searches. 99/100 they are just shots in the dark by people who don't have a clue but feel the need to post an answer to a question.

from a better source:

Yahoo! Answers - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Quote:
The site has been criticized as being more about social networking than providing accurate information.[9] Even though members can be academic experts and researchers, Yahoo! Answers' target group and majority is primarily the mainstream; hence, it has been criticized for both its high quantity of dubious questions such as "How is babby formed?" and "How to download some water?" and the reliability, validity, and relevance of its answers. Due to the large amount of questions of low intellect, the site has been the target of many pranksters.

The site does not have a system that filters the correct answers from the incorrect answers. It only allows the user community to choose the best answer from a line up of answers.[10]
I would agree. Oh, and how is babby formed?

Just drink Listerine (21.6 percent alcohol) when you want a nice buzz and fresh breath at the same time.

Valium doesn't change your breath, but its use was obvious anyway. Valium may be passé today, but whatever the current generation of Stepford Wives uses is no doubt is the same. I still remember that totally charming vacant look in women's eyes back in the 70s. If they were wearing hippie or ethnic clothes, it was grass or reds. If straight clothes, Valium.

Same with grass. Once the smoke is gone, no smell- but
who would not realize that the user was stoned?
