Okay, this is straight out of science fiction

Apparently there is hope for people paralyzed by injuries/disease:

Paralyzed woman gets mind-controlled robotic arm - Health - Health care - More health news - msnbc.com

Actually controlling a robotic arm by thoughts? Wow.

I know there has been a lot of experimentation and research on this and I suppose that eventually (one hopes) the bionic person will become a reality. Wonder if I'll be around long enough to see it.

Fascinating stuff. Here in Maryland, they are working on prosthetics at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab. I have heard about this from friends who work there.

This really is facinating stuff. Robotics has evolved more rapidly than the doctor/scientist being able to manipulate the brain. Great strides have been made in recent years regarding this science. It will be great for the wounded warriors along with those hindered by paralysis for years.
