Olive Garden Unlimited pasta pass

I couldnt imagine shoveling that much pasta in my feed hole. And we wonder why americans are so obese.

I guess if you're hard up on money and just looking to survive this is a good deal. You can feed yourself really well.

Anyone serious about their health will pass on this. Pasta is basically terrible for you. Everything in moderation is fine...this...not so much.

Be sure to do a before-and-after weigh in.

Yeah, I'm not into eating "unlimited" anything. I typically avoid buffets because they're either loaded with cheap, filling food or they're very expensive because they draw heavy eaters.

I got another pasta pass! They sold 21,000 of them this time.

I'll let y'all know how it goes
Look forward to it - again. :) Especially interested to see if you approach this differently now that you have one under your belt.

So, you're not limited to just pasta, correct? This includes soup and salad as well? Also, as before, you could just eat the toppings, like shrimp or meatballs, and then get refills, right?

mickj,
Thanks. It looks like they have sold out again.
Boy, from the comments here you'd think the folks at Olive Garden strap customers down and stuff the noodles down their throat.
Really--just eat as much as you want. And if you don't/can't, it doesn't mean everyone is wired like that. Olive Garden may not be considered fine dining by some folks, but we enjoy the food there, the quality is consistent from location to location, and the price is reasonable.

I can't eat enough to get much value from "all you can eat"...

Haven't eaten at an Olive Garden since last year's birthday Olive Garden gift card, but there's nothing wrong with OG in general. I do, however, prefer the little hidden Italian place a few miles away. Good food, and atmosphere, plus BYOB!

Nah...no one said olive garden straps customers down and force feeds them. We're saying pasta is bad for you...thats all. Im not going to bother going into the details as to why pasta is terrible for you. People just get used to feeling like cr*p so those who eat a lot of breads/pastas think they feel fine.

I challenge anyone to try cutting the majority of carbs out of their daily eating habits. Just do it for a week. Its actually really difficult at first. One thing you will notice is how you never have a crash during the day. You'll have a lot more energy. And yes...from time to time I destroy the breads...nom nom!

I think the pasta pass is different than the never ending pasta bowl...

I would not be interested in either, but if I wanted pasta more the pass would probably pay for itself....

But, we just went last night... and I have enough pasta today for a nice lunch... with a never ending bowl I would not...

Mick, you must have been on your game. I heard on news they all sold out in ONE second...

Pasta isn't fattening after all and can actually help you lose weight

I know they sold out that fast last year, and I'm sure it was fast this year too.
I think Scammers have bot programs buy them up, and then resell them on ebay

I'm also sure some on ebay could even be fake, so I don't recommend buying them.

I just wish companies would put some thought into how they will prevent scammers from buying all the online tickets and things, before normal folks can get a chance. Same thing happens with concerts, all gone in seconds, and then available at 2x-3x the price at a reseller site.

Apparently, those reseller sites are where the tickets are selling for what they are worth. If they are originally priced below market value, then demand will outstrip supply and there will be some other mechanism to distribute them. Either stand in line for hours, join a lottery (with no way at all to be assured of getting a ticket no matter how much it is worth to you), or pay a "scalper" ("market efficiency optimizer") to help. :hide:

And, with the Pasta Pass, you and your guests may indulge in all of the Coca Cola beverages they wish. I think my pancreas just exploded.

But seriously, enjoy. I can't do these deals justice because I just can't eat that much without feeling barfy, but I know people who get their money's worth and more, and they look just fine.

For us it is the Bellagio buffet in Vegas. Snow crab legs and melted butter. Three pounds of that plus some prime rib with horseradish, and maybe a few slices of cheesecake for desert.

I used to hang out on myfitbesspal boards and the stories of buffet binges in Las Vegas turned me off of them forever. Really, do you need your baked potato topped with butter AND sour cream AND bacon AND salsa?

One of the best restaurant meals I ever had was at a little Italian hole in the wall in Chicago. I had the white bean and greens soup. Period. It was sublime. Every bite was infused with garlic. I guess I'm just a peasant.

That's so full of salt. I would avoid it. Think of your kidneys.

you guys really go to Olive Garden? DW banned that from the grid

And those beans--over 50% of their calories from carbohydrates. Plus, there's no telling if any restaurant can be counted on to use organic produce.

Whenever I have the idea that I might want to enjoy a heavy, filling, Italian meal at a chain restaurant I just put on the hairshirt and drink lukewarm water (de-ionized) until I feel full.

That study shows a correlation that thinner people ate more pasta than fatter people. It was self reported and no controls. I'd say that the fat people were not eating as much pasta (or not admitting to it) in order to keep from being fatter.
