One More Month Until Political Ads Stop

Getting real tired of all the political ads on radio, TV, newspaper, junk mail, yard signs, billboards, buses, benches, bumper stickers, and everywhere else they seem to be

One month to go and then can get back to traditional advertising. Wait a minute........ just can't win

It's why I love my DVR. I don't watch commercials. Ever. If I don't plan right, and want to watch a show that is currently airing... I tune and pause... then go clean the kitchen or something for 15 minutes... that lets me FFwd through commercials.

As for the mail - It gets tossed into the recycle bin (along with other advertisements and catelogues) as soon as it comes in the house.

Robo calls... that's another issue. Truly annoying right now. I'm in a very contested congressional district. Lots and lots of robo calls.

Political ads? I saw one a few weeks ago and it was pretty horrible. Otherwise I remain unscathed.

Why doesn't everyone wait until a few days before the election then research each candidate or referendum issue in a non-biased way? Am I the only fool that votes this way?

Not the only one, but the annual meeting of the "responsible voters club" could probably be held in a one-car garage.

I give myself a few weeks... CA has a lot of propositions/referendums. I definitely research - including figuring out who is funding the propositions- because the language can be very confusing... but money gives real clues.

My DVR helps, but I still hate yard signs and other political crap during this period. Should be a law to ban political ads. It'll never happen but I can lonely wish. I loath major elections for this reason.

Me too. However, it seems to me the medical/health related commercials continue all year around and are worse. Especially during the day time hours on weekdays. Seems to be a drug commercial for almost every aliment known to man or the best hospital for this or that surgery. The next commercial is from the lawyers telling you to call them and sue for bad drugs and/or bad medical treatments. The next one is about finding a place for mom and dad or life insurance and/or burial polices, (the list goes on). And let's not forget about all the commercials wanting you to sign up for a new Medicare supplement provider at this time of the year.

The political ads have been very educational here in my state. We have learned a lot about each candidate and why we should not vote for him or her--all from the opposing candidate.

Yes, hurry up, election day! Until the fall....
