Within 15 miles there was a semi in the ditch another one jack knifed on the highway three other cars in the ditch and a fresh 3 car accident just before my exit and that was at 5:30 in the morning when there are very few cars on the road around here. If I were retired I would've spent at least the last week in the house. I may have gone outside every other day to get the mail but that's it.

I do that on my lunch 1/2 hour. One day while on vacation I went to the library at 9:30 a.m and the guard said, "are you retired now?" It felt sooooo goooood. I now call 9:30 a.m., "the hour of the retiree." Looking forward to doing it for real.

We had planned on going fishing this morning but when I got up to visit the facilities at 5:45 it was foggy so I went back to bed after telling him not to bother getting up. It is 75 degrees so fog is common as the seawater temp is still about 60. That is one of the good things about ER ,we can always go tomorrow!!!

It's merely an unrelated coincidence that the national command authorities determined that this satellite needed to be shot down over Hawaii in February. Doesn't it also orbit over Alaska, North Dakota, and Montana?
We've had more of the chain of command sitting off Kauai last week than sitting in DC.

If I was "in command", I'd pick Hawaii over those other places, too...

I was on my way to work and was told to go back home!
Spent the day napping, knitting, playing with Casanova, drinking hot tea, and taking the time to make lunch and dinner.....I cannot wait to retire and do this every day!
*sigh* 13 more years to go!

I'm spending a lot more time in libraries also. Went to the Abraham Lincoln Museum and Library in Springfield, Il on Friday - it was awesome. Also went to the Library of Congress last year. Go to local libraries all the time. I can easily spend all day in a library.

I think the forum administrator should create a separate forum for "Retirees Only" so that us working stiffs do not have to put up with this type of abuse. It's hard to remain positive when you guys rub it in like this! I believe an apology is in order!

I second this motion, I am still slogging through ice/snow/cold every day for my daily beating at work. If it wasn't for health care...
Speaking of which (I'm sure someone has), if we had socialized health care all of a sudden, imagine the exodus out of the workplaces in the US. WOW!
